  • In February 2006, www.karmayog.org had selected PAWS-Mumbai as "Nonprofit of the Month" and received Certificate for Outstanding Service to Society in the field of "Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation".
  • In December 2007, PAWS-Mumbai founder Sunish Subramanian Kunju received “Jwala Award for “Helping city animals in distress from the hands of Shri. Babu Kuzhemattam (a well know writer from Kerala).
  • In February 2008, A “Public Felicitation” of PAWS-Mumbai founder Sunish Subramanian Kunju for his conservation work by the hands of Shri. Ayaz Memon (Journalist & Sports Editor of DNA – Daily News Analysis) at 4th HSBC Mumbai Bird Race organizer by Sunjoy Monga (Naturalist & Hon. Wildlife Warden, Mumbai Suburb)
  • In March 2008, PAWS-Mumbai Activist Nisha Kunju received “YEPT’s Women of Substance Award” on International Women’s Day from the hand of Actor Mukesh Rishi.
  • In 2009, PAWS-Mumbai featured in “Limca Book of Records” as “Youth for Animals”.
  • In March 2009, PAWS-Mumbai founder Sunish Subramanian Kunju, was one of the snake catcher from 20 people from Maharashtra who were appointed as Snake Friend by Maharashtra State Government Forest department.
  • In November 2009, PAWS-Mumbai Youngest Member Hitesh Yadav (4) received “ROBINAGE Bright Sparks Scholarship” by Robin Age. Robin Age is an award-winning weekly newspaper for children age between 6 to 15 years.
  • In May 2010, PAWS-Mumbai founder Sunish Subramanian Kunju received “Hax World Newsmakers Achievers Award” as “Best Animal Activist” in an international event held at Taj Palace & Tower in Mumbai.
  • In April 2010, PAWS-Mumbai Youngest Member Hitesh Yadav (5) received “Outstanding Student Award for being a Animal Activist” on the event of National Education Society & Saraswathi Vidya Bhavan’s Foundation Day held at Bhandup.
  • In June 2010, PAWS-Mumbai Member Mr. R. V. Raghavan & daughter Gargi received Radio City 91.1 FM’s Pradushan Mukt Paryayaran Award – PMPA on the event World Environment Day from the hands of Mayor of Mumbai Smt. Shradda Jadhav for their environment conservation effort at Anushakti Nagar in Mumbai.
  • In December 2010, PAWS-Mumbai received NAI Best NGO Award at NAI 18th Annual Conference & Award ceremony held at ISKCON Temple in New Delhi.
  • In April 2011, A “Public Felicitation” of PAWS-Mumbai Youngest Member Hitesh Yadav(6) by Bombay Natural History Society – BNHS for his conservation afford in very small age from the hands of Mrs Pheroza Godrej at BNHS Flamingo Festival held at Mumbai.
  • In April 2011, PAWS-Mumbai Youngest Member Hitesh Yadav (6) received “Outstanding Student Award” for his exemplary achievement in the field of Social Work during 2010 – 2011 by the National Education Society & Saraswathi Vidya Bhavan on their 48th Foundation Day from the hands of Veteran Actress Zeenat Aman. 
  • In 2011, PAWS-Mumbai featured in “India Book of Record”.
  • In August 2011, Plant & Animals Welfare Society - Mumbai received "S9 Karyaratna Puraskar 2011" as "Best NGO" from the hands of Members of Legislative Assembly Shri. Sardar Tara Singh in an event held at Bhandup Mumbai.

PAWS-Mumbai’s banchmark in the animal welfare & environment protect………..


  •  PAWS-Mumbai successes in closing down illegal wild bird selling shops in Bhandup, Mulund & Vikhroli areas of Mumbai & Thane city too.
  •  PAWS-Mumbai successes in closing down illegal Mini Zoos, which are especially on Municipal Plots.
  • PAWS-Mumbai successes in stopping Parrot Astrology & Snake Charming. 
  • Freedom of 75 Deer’s which was in illegally captivity since more than 40 Years by the Mumbai Municipal Corporation at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Garden at Powai, by using Right to Information – RTI, the information was collected and complaint was registered with Forest Department. In that case 4 top most Municipal Officers were offenders & finally after 3 years long follow-up, finally they were released in the natural habitat at Tungareshwar sanctuary near Vasai. All the animals were transported in special trucks as per the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) guidelines in batches. Forest officers have also seized 120 Kg of deer’s horns & 1 Star Turtle.
  • PAWS-Mumbai exposed the wildlife trade racket through website. It was the first wildlife crime in which Forest Department has successes in rescuing 3 Bird (falcons) which are protected under Schedule I, Part III of Wildlife Protection Act 1972, arrested two youths and seized their vehicle (Santro), etc.
  • PAWS-Mumbai launched complaint about two horses which were part of an illegal tonga race was fell off from the Andheri flyover to death & PAWS-Mumbai team provided all necessary evidence to the police by investigating the case by themselves, the Horse owner charge with “cruelty” and put the owner behind bars.
  • PAWS-Mumbai jointly with Bombay Environment Social Network, Save Bombay Committee & Activist G R Vora, Kishan Mehta, M K Saran have success in saving 150 trees on LBS Marg being plan to chopped by MMRDA for road-widening project without following any processes. A Chipko Movement was also organised in which Chipko movement leader Sunderlal Bahuguna with his wife Vimla taken part, promoting MMRDA to stall the decision.
  • PAWS-Mumbai was only NGO who had taken the objection against the decision to chop 277trees on the side of Powai Lake which are coming in the middle of construct of Jogging Track. The authority also stalls the decision to 30 trees.  The authority has also agreed to plant 300 more trees around the jogging track to make area lush.
  • PAWS-Mumbai exposes real face condition of animals in Zoo & Circus by inspecting them and giving their reports to the consent authorities like Central Zoo Authority, Animal Welfare Board of India, etc for necessary action.
  • PAWS-Mumbai is the first NGO how had taken the task to find new home for retiring sniffer dogs from the Bombay Customs Department and success in giving happy home to Maya and Pinky
